There are many big school players in this draft that could potentially help the Philadelphia Eagles. On todays draft prospect, I wanted to go to smaller schools and later rounds. This is why I’ve decided to spotlight 2021 draft prospect, CB Shemar Jean-Charles, out of Appalachian State.

Accomplishments
Standing 5’11” and weighing in at 190 pounds the 2021 draft prospect Jean-Charles came to App State as a two-star cornerback prospect. This past year was certainly his breakout year, he finished the year with 35 tackles, 16 pass deflections, and one interception. He was named a Walter Camp First Team All-American for his efforts and the Sun Belt player of the year by PFF. Pro Football Focus also charted him as having a higher forced incompletion rate (34.6%) than catch rate allowed (32.7%) on the year which is a truly rare accomplishment. He was also a Team Captain for App State this past season.
Worth a Shot
The knock-on 2021 draft prospect CB Shemar Jean-Charles is his physical traits. He’s on the smaller side of the position, at 5-foot-10, and pairs that with an arm length of just over 30 inches. It clearly didn’t affect him at Appalachian State, but the NFL is obviously on a whole other playing field. He’ll likely have to move inside at the next level — which is where he spent his time during the Tropical Bowl All-Star game — as a result, and that’s weighing heavy on his draft stock. Unlike Asante Samuel Jr. (they are near identical in size ), Charles does not have the elite level athleticism to fall back on in the NFL, but Jean-Charles will bring the physicality needed to hold up in the slot. If he is still on the board during Day 3, he’s absolutely worth taking a shot on.
