With the 2023-24 NHL Regular season bearing down on us. The Flyers will open the season against the Columbus Blue Jackets on October 12th in Columbus. We here at EOP will spotlight a Flyers player every week. This week we will look at two players, Cam York, and Ronnie Attard

Cam York
In keeping with the rebuild and new era or orange theme that the Flyers are in 2023-24 I present you, Cam York. York along with Morgan Frost, Tyson Forester, Owen Tippett, Wade Allison, Joel Farabee, and TK represent the immediate future of the Flyers. York, who was selected by the Flyers in the 1st round and 14th overall in the 2019 NHL draft. He is posed to be an anchor on the Flyers blueline for years to come. York is mostly compared to the player who was selected below him in the draft Cole Caufield of the Montreal Canadians.
A highly skilled defenseman. York has an impressive hockey sense, and his overall skill level is high. Furthermore, he is very mobile, has a good passing game, and a quick release. Defensively he is solid with an active stick and strong positioning. York is in the position to make 2023-24 his first full NHL season.
York played 3 games with the Flyers in 2020-21 after completing his college season and college career with the University of Michigan. He played 30 games for the Flyers in 2021-22 and 54 games for the Flyers last year. Totaling 5 goals, 25 assists, and a minus 16. There are a ton of things to be excited for with York in 2022-23 in the 54 games he played he was a minus 1 super impressive for a young blue liner.
The future is now for a bunch of Flyers prospects and Cam York headlines that list.

Ronnie Attard
Attard is in a different category than a lot of the players we have spotlighted here at EOP. Attard’s future may not be now but now would be great because there is a chance that the Flyers 3rd round pick from the 2019 draft may make this roster. A young blueliner is what the doctor ordered for this team and Attard, who has impressed at every level of the Flyers organization is this year’s Noah Cates camp story.

Attard has played in 17 games for the Flyers over the past two seasons. Registering 2 goals, 4 assists, and a minus 2. With all his coaches saying that he possesses all the tools to be successful at the NHL level the future looks very bright for this American Hockey player.
