2023 NLL Playoff ‘Pickems

The All Lacrosse Crew continue their insights and picks through the NLL playoffs.

Year To Date:

“Muffler” Mike….2-2

Conference Finals:

“Muffler” Mike Kostiuk:

CGY @ COL (Game 1)

Colorado. The offense is fully healthy again, and Dillon Ward gave everyone a reminder of why the Mammoth are the defending champs. Add to that the uncertain availability status of Roughnecks forward Tyler Pace (who hasn’t played a game in the US all season), and the champs will head north with the 1-0 advantage.

TOR @ BUF (Game 1)

Toronto. The Rock impressed in their quarterfinal matchup without the services of Tom Schreiber. No point in me suddenly stopping the rather unhealthy habit of betting against the Bandits at home.

TOR @ BUF (Game 2)

Toronto. Yes, I said on the podcast that both series would go to Game 3. Welp…minds can change. The Rock will have their own raucous home crowd to help them avenge last year’s heartbreak and advance to the finals.

COL @ CGY (Game 2)

Calgary. I still believe this series will go the distance, despite the unconventional low seed-high seed-high seed format. The Roughnecks regroup and adjust their transition play to outwork the Mammoth defense and force Game 3.

Shawn Slaght:

Calgary vs. Colorado (Game 1)

Pick – Colorado

The Manmoth are coming off a huge victory against San Diego and I think they will keep momentum rolling. This whole series is going to be a goaltending battle but I’ll give the early advantage to Dillon Ward.

Buffalo vs Toronto (Game 1)

Pick – Toronto

Similar to Colorado, I think the Rock will be riding a wave of emotion. They shook off the Halifax demons and will want to send a message to the Bandits.

Calgary vs Colorado (Game 2)

Pick – Calgary

This series is going to be a dragged out fight. Calgary will bounce back with a convincing victory to force Game 3.

Buffalo vs Toronto (Game 2)

Pick – Buffalo

Flip a coin. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Rock finish it in two games. That being said, the Bandits will not to down easily. I think that will narrowly win Game 2 to set up an exciting deciding game.

Gary Groob:

Calgary @ Colorado Game One

Colorado wins.

Colorado is in sync, and with the raucous crowd behind them find a way to win game one.  This will be a low scoring game.

Toronto @ Buffalo Game One

Buffalo wins.

The Buffalo Bandits are healthy and rolling.  With the crowd of 15,000+ to egg them on, they will find a way to edge the Rock out.

Buffalo @ Toronto Game Two

Toronto wins.

Torontoevens the series in a very aggressive, feisty game, which sees a parade to the penalty box throughout.

Colorado @ Calgary Game Two

Calgary wins.

The Roughnecks even the series with a transition game for the ages.  Look for Del Bianco to be a big factor in the result.

Ryan McMichael:

Calgary @ Colorado Game One

Calgary Roughnecks

Toronto @ Buffalo Game One

Buffalo Bandits

Buffalo @ Toronto Game Two

Toronto Rock

Colorado @ Calgary Game Two

Calgary Roughnecks
