Flyers Let Early Lead Slip Away, Lose to Capitals

From a state title as a freshman in high school in 2022. Then an announcement that Griffin was reclassifying from the 2025 to the 2024 draft class. That move skyrocketed him to the top of the high school prospects in the country.

Whether it be in the outfield, shortstop, or on the mound Griffin excels at it. With the blend of athleticism, baseball tools, and instinct Griffin has it all. His frame and shoulders provide for continued developed strength.

Coming into the draft class Griffin is one of the younger high school prospects. His natural ability and baseball IQ make up for his young age. He’s a bouncy athlete with plus-plus speed and a plus arm that could tick up to become a 70 tool. At the plate, Griffin sets up with his hands crunched behind his head, then can fire them through the zone with some of the best bat speed in the country.

His contact ability shows up as home run power on the high school field. Filling out as he grows older will aid his ability to hit for power at the next two levels. Contact rates and putting the ball in play are his trademark plate approach. Which is rare for someone his age.

Griffin is rangy as a shortstop, a position in which he fields with control and power. His pitching development is not lagging either. He clocks his fastball in the low 90’s range.   That velocity should be reaching into the high 90s come draft time.
