The Langley Thunder (3-2) visited the Coquitlam Adanacs (5-2) in WLA action on Saturday night at the Coquitlam Sports Centre.
Both teams have enjoyed success this season, and this would be a mighty test for both squads.
The goaltending match-up had Christian Del Bianco in net for the Adanacs against Frank Scigliano on net for the Thunder.
The game was back and forth through most of the night, but a late run of four goals was just enough to give the Adanacs the 10-9 victory.
To The Game:
Langley got off to a quick start with Dane Dobbie burying a Colin Munroe pass just 1:25 into the game. Brett Draper tied it up for the Adanacs at 3:05, but two power play goals from the Thunder put them on control. Curtis Dickson scored the first power play goal off a Dane Dobbie pass at 9:03, followed by Robert Church scoring unassisted at 16:11. Coquitlam scored a power play goal of their own when John Hofseth potted a Dylan Watson pass at 19:49.
After one period, Langley 3 Coquitlam 2.
Second Period:
Coquitlam tied the game early into the second period when Clark Walter converted a Brett Draper pass at 2:34, followed by Matt Delmonico also converting a Draper pass for the lead at 15:47.
Dane Dobbie scored his second of the night at 18:46 for Langley. Robert Church scored at 19:59 with the goalie pulled for the extra attacker.
After two periods, Langley 5 Coquitlam 4.
Third Period:
Colin Munroe opened the third period scoring for the Thunder unassisted at 2:17, followed by Dane Dobbie scoring his third of the night shorthanded at 3:47.
Coquitlam got back in the game when Clark Walter converted a John Hofseth pass at 5:07, followed by Luke Jabar finishing off a Dylan Watson pass at 5:35.
Dane Dobbie scored his fourth of the night converting a Thomas Vaesen pass at 11:14. John Hofseth converted a Harrison Matsuoka pass to bring this to a one goal game with 7:00 left to play. Matsuoka himself scored at 14:45 to tie the game, and Dylan Watson converted an Adam Dickson pass at 15:08 to give the Adanacs the lead. Matt Delmonico converted an Adam Dickson pass 0:41 seconds later.
Thomas Vaesen scored for Langley on the power play off a Dane Dobbie pass at 17:41, and it was only a one goal deficit again, but that was as close as it would get.
