All Lacrosse All The Time 2023-24 NLL Pick ‘Ems – Week 3

All season long the All Lacrosse All The Time Crew will put together their picks for the upcoming week of NLL games.

Week 2:

“Muffler” Mike….3-3

Year To Date:

“Muffler” Mike….5-6

Week 3 picks:

“Muffler” Mike Kostiuk:

Las Vegas. It already looks like closely-contested games will be the Desert Dogs’ M.O. all season long. They’ll pull out another one to build on the momentum of last week’s thrilling win over PCLC.

Albany. This FireWolves team is not punching as far above their weight as most seem to think. The losses of Riorden and Cattoni to injury doesn’t help the Wings’ cause.

New York. The Riptide cannot afford to fall into a deep hole like they did last season.

San Diego. Its never too early for a statement game. The Seals watch a banner get raised, then move closer toward the same end goal for themselves this year.

Georgia. I think this will be a shootout, which slightly favors the Swarm offense.

Shawn Slaght:

Las Vegas vs Saskatchewan

Pick – Saskatchewan

Despite the loss, the Rush turned a corner last week and went toe to toe with one of the top teams in the league. Las Vegas may have won in overtime, but they need to find their offence because we know the Rush can score. I think Sask gets in the win column this week.

Albany vs Philadelphia

Pick – Albany

Philadelphia is a walking MASH unit already.  Losing Blaze Riorden and Holden Cattoni is a huge blow. Albany is on a roll and they will continue their momentum.

Halifax vs New York

Pick – Halifax

Halifax is all in and they proved it in Week 1. Questions still remain in New York. Can Dunkerley take the next step? Who will step up to help Jeff Teat with the scoring. Those question don’t bode well for the Riptide.

San Diego vs Buffalo

Pick – Buffalo

I went back and forth numerous times on this pick. Buffalo had a sub-par showing in their season opener, but you have to think they’ll bounce back. I also think Buffalo has the advantage in goal.

Georgia vs Vancouver

Pick – Georgia

In previous years, this game wouldn’t even be close. Vancouver had a rough start to the season but they aren’t a bad team. I have to give the advantage to Georgia however. They are firing on all cylinders right now.

Gary Groob:

Las Vegas vs. Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan wins.

This team is on the brink of something great.  Zach Manns has been playing great.  Look for Robert Church to have a big game.  The Rush defense and goalie Frank Scigliano will get on track this weekend bottling up the Desert Dogs offense.

Albany vs. Philadelphia

Albany wins.

Philadelphia is going through major injuries, and Albany is firing on all cylinders.   Doug Jamieson is playing great this season in the FireWolves net.  The Philly defense, while quicker, is still gelling with each other.

Halifax vs. New York

Halifax wins.

Although the Riptide are vastly improved, the Thunderbirds are in the “Championship or Bust” mode.  Cody Jamieson, Austin Shanks, Clarke Petterson and Ryan Benesch are in sync.  The defense is playing well also.  Don’t sleep on the Riptide though.  If the Thunderbirds don’t bottle up Jeff Teat, this has the makings of a major upset.

San Diego vs. Buffalo

Buffalo wins.

San Diego is a great team, but so are the Bandits.   Buffalo was embarrassed last week in Albany, and won’t let anyone ruin their banner raising ceremony and night.  The transition of Buffalo will test the Seals defense, and the waves of offense will give Origlieri a tough evening.

Georgia vs. Vancouver

Georgia wins.

I am sold on the Swarm.  The Thompsons, Shayne Jackson, et all will give the Warriors a big test.  Vancouver will be a force during the season, but are still getting used to one another for now.

Eduardo Curros:

Las Vegas vs. Saskatchewan

LV is on a roll and doesn’t show signs of slowing down.

Albany vs. Philadelphia

Albany is scoring by committee and Philadelphia seems to have a few injuries.  Albany but I expect it to be close.

Halifax vs. New York

Halifax: If they are anything like how they were in week one, NY will have thier hands full.

San Diego vs. Buffalo

San Diego was an machine firing on all cylinders but Buffalo is a different animal especially at home.

Georgia vs. Vancouver

Vancouver should pull a win but it will be close.

Pat Bernard:

Las Vegas vs. Saskatchewan

Albany vs. Philadelphia

Halifax vs. New York
