Week 10 picks:

“Muffler” Mike Kostiuk:

HFX @ PHI

Philadelphia. Halifax seems to be back on track, but the Wings shine brightest when their back is against the wall, and it’s definitely against the wall this week.

VAN @ GA

Vancouver. Curt Malawsky made his point crystal clear in last week’s postgame comments: it’s time for the Warriors to shape up or ship out.

NY @ CGY

New York. Normally I wouldn’t have any team losing both games in a double-home doubleheader, but no one should want to face the Riptide the way they’ve played since they exited their December doldrums.

LV @ ALB

Albany. Both teams are coming off losses but the FireWolves have shown much more consistency than Las Vegas this year.

ROC @ BUF

Buffalo. They no longer appear invincible, but the Bandits seem to have righted the ship, including beating Rochester on the road 3 weeks ago.

PCLC @ SASK

Panther City. Make no mistake – last week’s win was a statement game, not to the rest of the league but to themselves, confirming that PCLC has what it takes to contend for the Cup this year.

TOR @ CGY

Toronto. Can’t see how the Rock don’t run over a Roughnecks squad that will be worn down from playing a game 24 hours earlier. The pentannual streak of either winning or appearing in the Cup Finals could be in serious jeopardy for Calgary.

COL @ SD

Colorado. Have to lean towards the stronger defense and goaltending over the higher-powered Seals offense.

Shawn Slaght:

Halifax vs Philadelphia

Pick – Halifax

There are some serious questions about the Wings’ defence and I can’t see them handling the Thunderbirds’ high powered offence,

Vancouver vs Georgia

Pick – Georgia

Will Curt Malawsky’s rant after the last game have any effort on this Warriors team? I’d like to think it has but Georgia will be coming in hungry and I can see them coming out on top.

New York vs Calgary

Pick – New York

I really wish the true Riptide team will show itself. Are they the team that was getting blown out earlier in the season or the team we are seeing now? I think they keep the momentum going against Calgary.

Las Vegas vs Albany

Pick – Albany

This one should be a lock. There is just too much going wrong for Las Vegas at the moment. Albany is in a completely different league.

Rochester vs Buffalo

Pick – Buffalo

These are two teams going in opposite directions. The Bandits are getting their groove back while the Knighthawks are falling back to earth.

Panther City vs Saskatchewan

Pick – Saskatchewan

A message was sent during this bye week with the Rush during their offensive coordinator. You also have the winningest coach in NLL history back behind the bench. Coaching changes usually spark one win right away.

Toronto vs Calgary

Pick – Calgary

The schedule makers were not kind to the Roughnecks having to play back-to-back games with the Rock on the back end of the two games. I can see Calgary running out of gas by the end.

Colorado vs San Diego

Pick – San Diego

This is going to be a lot closer than many might think. Colorado is starting to look like a championship calibre team again. I’m just not too sure if they are at the point they can beat upper echelon teams like San Diego on a regular basis yet.

Gary Groob:

Halifax vs. Philadelphia

Halifax wins.

The Thunderbirds had a blip in the road, but they seem to be running on all cylinders.   Ryan Benesch, Clarke Petterson, Cody Jamieson and Austin Shanks will feast on the Philly defense.   The Wings offense needs to step up if they hope to have success in this game.

Vancouver vs. Georgia

Georgia wins.

I really like the make up of this Swarm team.  Offensively they match up with anybody in the league, and defensively they are bruising.   They have had a couple of hard weeks, but I expect them to right the ship against the floundering Vancouver Warriors.

New York vs. Calgary

Calgary wins.

The Riptide have played well the last few weeks, but I think the Roughnecks matchup well against them.  If anyone will be successful in net, Christian Del Bianco will.  Offensively, the Calgary offense should keep Cam Dunkerley very busy.

Las Vegas vs. Albany

Albany wins.

Yes!  I actually picked Albany.  They have convinced me they are for real!   This is one of the most well rounded teams.  If they can fix their power-play, they could be unstoppable.

Rochester vs. Buffalo

Buffalo wins.

Both teams have been inconsistent this year, but I think the Bandits have looked more themselves recently.   A stacked offense, a strong defense, and a Hall of Fame goalie.  It will be a tall order for the Knighthawks.

Panther City vs Saskatchewan

Panther City wins.

PCLC is rolling!  I knew they were talented, but didn’t know how much.  They believe in Tracey Kelusky’s system and are reaping the benefits now.  Saskatchewan is trying to right the ship.  This will be a tough test for the Rush.

Toronto vs. Calgary

Toronto wins.

Toronto is pissed from losing to Buffalo, and will take it out on the Roughnecks.  Tom Schreiber will be acclimated to the new offense, and the transition game will be running at full steam.  The Roughnecks, after a hard fought game tje previous night, may have trouble keeping up to the pace for 60 minutes.

Colorado vs. San Diego

Colorado wins.

A few weeks ago I wouldn’t have thought twice about picking the Seals, however…Colorado has looked more like the playoff team recently, and less like the team that started the year.  A healthy Dillon Ward will frustrate the Seals offense.

Eduardo Curros:

Halifax vs Philadelphia

Halifax can out run and out gun Philadelphia

Vancouver vs Georgia

Vancouver is desperate and  they are going for broke on this one.

New York vs Calgary

Calgary has CDB and that will make all the difference.

Las Vegas vs Albany

Albany by a lot

Rochester vs Buffalo

Buffalo

Panther City vs Saskatchewan

Panther City went on a terror…I think they are just getting warmed up.

Toronto vs Calgary

Toronto is going to put up a major fight.

Colorado vs San Diego

Colorado is awoken….San Diego is going to have to be stellar to stay alive.

Pat Bernard:

Halifax vs. Philadelphia

New York vs. Calgary

Las Vegas vs. Albany

Albany

Rochester vs. Buffalo

Rochester

Panther City vs Saskatchewan
