All Lacrosse All The Time Weekly NLL Pick ‘Ems – Week 12

All season long the All Lacrosse All The Time Crew will put together their picks for the upcoming week of NLL games.

Week 11:

“Muffler” Mike…4-2

Year To Date:

“Muffler” Mik……29-33

Week 12 picks:

“Muffler” Mike Kostiuk:

Halifax. If the Thunderbirds truly want to contend for the NLL Cup, they need to get some statement games on their resume. Beating the defending champs is a good start.

New York. The Riptide are not only winning, but finding different ways to do so each week. I think this spells
trouble for a Toronto team starting to go through their own rough stretch.

Philadelphia. Both teams are doing better on the road so far this year, plus the Wings get Holden Cattoni back which should amp up their offense.

Colorado. The margin for error to make the playoffs is running thin for the Mammoth. They need to climb back to .500 now or face the prospect of being sellers at the trade deadline.

Calgary. The Roughnecks still have some kinks to work out, but they are a better team than their record currently indicates.

Shawn Slaght:

Buffalo vs Halifax

Pick – Buffalo

Man, this is really a coin flip. It could go either way. This could be a statement game for Halifax but I’m not sure if they’ll be able to overcome Buffalo’s fire power.

Toronto vs New York

Pick – New York

There is no doubt New York is the hottest team in the league right now and it couldn’t come at a worse time for Toronto. The Rock just isn’t firing on all cylinders right now and I have some concerns about them.

Philadelphia vs Las Vegas

Pick – Las Vegas

Two teams that I just can’t gauge. I’m going to go with Las Vegas because Philly’s defense has been horrific as of late. If they can’t help Zach Higgins out it’ll be a long night.

Colorado vs Albany

Pick – Albany

The big “X” fact will be if Doug Jamieson will be available for the Firewolves. Regardless, something isn’t right in Mammoth land, which is raising a lot of question marks.

Halifax vs Calgary

Pick – Halifax

The Roughnecks don’t look like the Roughnecks of old. They still live and die by the transition game but it hasn’t been a potent as previous years and Zach Currier has been silent. It’s a tough travel schedule for Halifax but I’m still going with them.

Gary Groob:

Buffalo vs. Halifax

Buffalo wins.

The Bandits offense has too many weapons.  Matt Vinc can steal a game if needed as well.  This will be a tough weekend for the Thunderbirds.

Toronto vs. New York

Toronto wins.

The Rock’s defense matches up well.  The transition game will give the Riptide fits.  This is the big test for New York’s abilities.

Philadelphia vs. Las Vegas

Philadelphia wins.

The Wings will be chomping at the bit to get going.  While the Desert Dogs are improving, the Wings offense will out gun them in this game.

Colorado vs. Albany

Albany wins.

Albany is too strong, and Colorado has been too inconsistent.

Halifax vs. Calgary

Calgary wins.

A tough game against Buffalo on Friday.  Flying two time zones to play a tough Calgary team.  The Roughnecks transition game.  Christian Del Bianco.   All reasons I am going with Calgary in this game.

Eduardo Curros:

Buffalo vs Halifax

Buffalo has too much firepower.

Toronto vs New York

Toronto has better goalie and team but New York is playing at home and has a hotstreak. New York by a slim margin.

Philadelphia vs Las Vegas

Las Vegas has multiple advantages.

Colorado vs Albany

Albany by a lot. Colorado is still trying to answer too many questions.

Halifax vs Calgary

Calgary at home is always difficult but Halifax is going to have to deal with Buffalo then Calgary…. Calgary for the win.

Pat Bernard:

Buffalo vs. Halifax

Toronto vs. New York

Philadelphia vs. Las Vegas

Las Vegas

Colorado vs. Albany

Halifax vs. Calgary
