Gary………………….53-39
“Muffler” Mike…..44-48

Week 16 picks:

“Muffler” Mike Kostiuk:

PC @ HFX

Panther City. One team is seemingly voluntarily imploding, the other is calmly going about their business, working to fix their deficiencies week in and week out. Go with the latter team.

SD @ CGY

San Diego. As much as this is a revenge game for the Roughnecks, this week IMO is also where we’ll start to see a clearer separation between playoff-caliber teams, and teams that will be watching from the golf course.

LV @ VAN

Vancouver. You can see the improvement in the Warriors every week, regardless of the outcome. I can’t say I see the same upward trend in the Desert Dogs right now.

ROC @ ALB

Rochester. The Knighthawks have had the FireWolves’ number for some time now, they’ll build even more momentum off last week’s win.

TOR @ BUF

Toronto. The Rock are the most complete team at the moment, and there is still concern in Banditland about whether Matt Vinc is truly 100% recovered.

PHI @ GA

Georgia. The Wings traded this week for what will likely be a Top 3 draft pick. It may not be an indicator that they’ve given up on playoff hopes this season, but it sure feels that way.

NY @ SASK

New York. This is a tough one to call. Leaning towards the veteran defense of the Riptide being the difference here.

Shawn Slaght:

Panther City vs Halifax

Pick – Halifax

If the Thunderbirds want to be true contenders, this will be a statement game for them. Unfortunately for Panther City, I think they will find another gear.

San Diego vs Calgary

Pick – San Diego

I think San Diego and Halifax are in similar situations. It’s put-up-or-shut-up time. They will also find another gear against Calgary to stay within striking distance of the top of the standings.

Las Vegas vs Vancouver

Pick – Vancouver

This could go either way. Both teams have been super inconsistent which makes this pick tough. I think you’ll see the Warriors take some frustration out on the Desert Dogs.

Rochester vs Albany

Pick – Albany

I’m chalking the Firewolves loss last week to being a bump in the road. They are a talented young team and they’ll right the ship.

Toronto vs Buffalo

Pick – Toronto

The Rock are the top dogs. They are a well-rounded team and, unless they play a near flawless game, I don’t see how the Bandits win this one.

Philadelphia vs Georgia

Pick – Georgia

There is always next year Wings fans. The trade deadline showed they are clearing playing for next year, while Georgia still has lots to play for.

New York vs Saskatchewan

Pick – Saskatchewan

I’ll be honest, I’m going for the homer pick here. This Saskatchewan team went toe-to-toe with the defending champs and re-signing Robert Church means they are not giving up on this season.

Gary Groob:

Panther City vs. Halifax

Panther City wins.

Halifax is prone to taking penalties.  This is creating a real problem.  Panther City is quietly putting together solid victory after solid victory.

San Diego vs. Calgary

San Diego wins.

While the Roughnecks have looked good of late, they rely far too much on their transition game.  The Seals can counteract that, as well as throw a barrage on Del Bianco in net.

Las Vegas vs. Vancouver

Vancouver wins.

The Warriors are starting to believe in themselves.  Malawsky has kept building confidence, while also building systems.  Walsh has really matured in the Vancouver net.  Vegas is still looking for their identity.

Rochester vs. Albany

Rochester wins.

Rochester has turned the corner.  The defense is catching up to the offense.  This offense can put up a lot of goals!  Albany hadn’t been tested until last week, and this week will be more of the same.

Toronto vs. Buffalo

Toronto wins.

The Rock are almost 100% healthy.  Buffalo’s defense I’m not totally convinced about.  And is Matt Vinc healthy?

Philadelphia vs. Georgia

Georgia wins.

Georgia is making their push for the playoffs.  The Wings haven’t played a complete game this year.  Look for Kew, Thompson, and Jackson to have big games.

New York vs. Saskatchewan

New York wins.

I really like the spunk of the New York team.  I think Saskatchewan will make noise in the years to come, but this is still a team in rebuild.

Eduardo Curros:

Panther City vs. Halifax

Halifax

San Diego vs. Calgary

San Diego

Las Vegas vs. Vancouver

Vancouver

Rochester vs. Albany

Albany

Toronto vs. Buffalo

Toronto

Philadelphia vs. Georgia

Georgia

New York vs. Saskatchewan

New York

Pat Bernard:

Panther City vs. Halifax

Halifax

San Diego vs. Calgary

San Diego

Las Vegas vs. Vancouver

Vancouver

Rochester vs. Albany

Toronto vs. Buffalo

Philadelphia vs. Georgia
