Week 15 picks:

“Muffler” Mike Kostiuk:

VAN @ ALB

Albany. While the Warriors looked good last week, I think it’s too little, too late to salvage their season.

CGY @ GA

Calgary. Christian Del Bianco steals a win for the Roughnecks inside the Hive.

SASK @ BUF

Saskatchewan. This Buffalo team is being exposed without Matt Vinc in net. The Rush are using the games they have in hand on everyone else to their advantage.

COL @ TOR

Toronto. Only question here is: who from the Mammoth gets sold at the trade deadline, and where?

ALB @ ROC

Rochester. Unlike Vancouver, the Knighthawks can still very much save their season. They capitalize on a tired Albany team traveling for a doubleheader.

LV @ NY

Las Vegas. The Desert Dogs are also in the hunt for the postseason, and a reeling New York squad may be ripe for the picking.

HFX @ SD

Halifax. Going with the upset here, despite the travel and the recent inconsistencies in play by the Thunderbirds.

PC @ PHI

Philadelphia. Winning at home feels good, and the Wings want more of it.

Shawn Slaght:

Vancouver vs Albany

Pick – Albany

Vancouver is still trying to find its way. The Warriors may have a more veteran-laden team but Albany’s youth has stepped up big time. Add in Dougie Jamieson in goal and it should be a cakewalk for the Firewolves.

Calgary vs Georgia

Pick – Calgary

This was a tough one as both teams have been very inconsistent. I get the feeling like Calgary’s transition game will be the difference.

Saskatchewan vs Buffalo

Pick – Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan has won three of their last four. That’s been lost a bit because that one loss was a blowout to Halifax. Buffalo, on the other hand, isn’t the same without Matt Vinc in goal.

Colorado vs Toronto

Pick – Toronto

I don’t even know where to start. If the Mammoth look anything like they did against Saskatchewan this is going to be a blowout.

Albany vs Rochester

Pick – Albany

Despite playing twice this weekend I’m going with Albany. Rochester is starting to right the ship again, but this will be too tall of a task.

Las Vegas vs New York

Pick – New York

Have teams figured out the Riptide? Possibly. However, I don’t know if Las Vegas has the tools to shut down Jeff Teat.

Halifax vs San Diego

Pick – San Diego

This will be the true test for Halifax whether they are going to be a championship contender. I think it will come down to goaltending. Chris Origlieri is looking much more comfortable, while Warren Hill has been inconsistent. Look for San Diego to get to him early.

Panther City vs Philadelphia

Pick – Panther City

Which defence will show up for the Wings? That’s the million dollar question. I have a hard time putting my money on Philly until I know the defence will help Zach Higgins out a bit.

Gary Groob:

Vancouver vs. Albany

Albany wins.

Although Vancouver looked strong last week, the FireWolves have been red hot this season.  I still think they are one of the deepest teams in the league, and the Wariors will have a hard time matching up.

Calgary vs. Georgia

Georgia wins.

This Swarm team is a lot more talented than they get credit for.  If the defense can shut down the transition of Calgary, they should come out with the W.  Look for Shayne Jackson and Andrew Kew to have big nights.

Saskatchewan vs. Buffalo

Buffalo wins.

One thing that has been glaring this year is a lack of faceoff wins.  Now with the Milkman on the team, that problem is solved.   Look for Banditland to be rocking. Dhane Smith and Josh Byrne give Frank Scigliano a long night in the Saskatchewan goal.

Colorado vs. Toronto

Toronto wins.

The Rock are rolling!  And they are getting healthier each week!  Colorado has had the most inconsistent year I can remember.   Look for Toronto to try and get out of the gates quickly.  With I being bobblehead night, kids night, and autograph night…this will be the Loud House North!

Albany vs. Rochester

Rochester wins.

Albany is on the back half of a doubleheader, and Rochester is one of the highest scoring teams in the league.  A recipe for a Knighthawks victory.

Las Vegas vs. New York

New York wins.

Two words….Jeff Teat!

Halifax vs. San Diego

San Diego wins.

The Seals were two minutes away from a weekend sweep last weekend.  They will play a feisty game.  Halifax is known for their retaliation.   If SD gets powerplays, it will go a long way to a Seals victory.

Panther City vs. Philadelphia

Panther City wins.

If Philly’s defense shows up, it will be a close game, if they don’t, it could be over early.  Caputo and Crawford will both have big games for Panther City.

Eduardo Curros:

Vancouver vs. Albany
