It’s been 18 years since WWE was live from Puerto Rico. Live this Sunday, WWE presents Backlash live from Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico. WWE has pulled out all the stops to make this a can’t miss event. They have gotten the Island royalty Bad Bunny to help promote this show. Bad Bunny will host the event and wrestle in a match. The fans in Puerto Rico have shown they are excited and looking forward to this event. As of March, Backlash is completely sold out. In total, there are 7 matches on the card for this event. Hopefully, the excitement and ticket sales from the fans in Puerto Rico will convenience WWE not to wait 18 more years to return.

Seven matches are on tap for Saturday night’s Backlash from Puerto Rico. Every match from Backlash will for sure be a can’t miss. With both women’s titles being on the line. A long with the United States title on the line in a triple threat match. However, some matches stick out more than others. Due to the build or the wrestlers involved in the match. The matches that stick out to me the most are Bad Bunny vs. Damian Priest in a Street Fight. Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar, Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. Omos and Matt Riddle, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn vs. The Bloodline.
Bad Bunny vs Damian Priest at Backlash
Bad Bunny was always going to be involved in this event. He was supposed to be the host of the event. However, since Priest put Bad Bunny through the announce table. Bad Bunny will now challenge Priest in a street fight. These two have come full circle in their feud. At WrestleMania 38 Priest and Bunny were tag team partners. Now these men will look to tear each other apart anywhere in the arena they decide to take the fight.
It will be very interesting where these two decide to take the fight. It may become a national security event if they take the fight to the streets of Puerto Rico. I think this match will have some crazy run-ins along with some must-see spots. Bad Bunny has shown us that even though he is not a trained wrestler. He can really go in the ring. This match could steal the show. If I had to make a prediction just to make the fans happy Bad Bunny get the win in this match.

Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar
Cody Rhodes was supposed to go over at WrestleMania. Rhodes was to become the new world champion ending Roman’s historic streak. As we all know Cody did not win at WrestleMania. On the Raw after Mania Cody challenged Roman to a tag match. Cody just needed a partner. Out comes Brock Lesnar to team with Cody against Roman and Solo. However right before the tag match was about to start Brock laid an absolute beating on Cody setting the stage for this match at Backlash. To me, this match seems like it is just another obstacle Cody has to overcome to finish his story of finally winning the world title.

I do love how out of left field this feud was. Everyone thought that after the way WrestleMania played out Cody and Roman would just continue their feud. This is a good change-up to give Cody and Roman’s feud time to breathe. My prediction for this match is Cody wins, he needs a big win to keep looking strong.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. Omos
Talk about a match that truly came out of left field. This match was announced with no build or reason given. Seth Rollins is super over with the fans singing his them any time his song hits. Omos hasn’t really gained traction as the monster heel WWE is trying to make him look like. To me, I question why this match was made. I have two thought processes as to why this match was made. WWE wants Omos to be seen as a legit heel monster.

What better way than to beat one of the company’s biggest stars? The other is that WWE is setting Seth up to be the champion of the new title on Raw. WWE wants him to head into Night of Champions looking strong. What better way to come off strong than beating a legit giant clean? My prediction for this match is Omos wins with some kind of run-in.
Matt Riddle, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn vs. The Bloodline.
The main event of Backlash. The Feud that has been building for what seems like over a year has the big payoff this Saturday. This match is going to be used as a way to end the Sami and Bloodline storyline. The reason being KO and Sami were drafted to Raw the Bloodline on Smackdown. This match has the biggest shock factor of the night. I think that Solo turns on the Uso during this match kicking them out of the Bloodline.

The writing has been on the wall with Roman and the Uso’s. Since Mania, he has ignored them. During the draft, they were not selected with him. I have always been under the idea that Jey Uso should be the one to end the championship run of Roman. I think this match sets up a tag match between Solo and Roman vs Uso’s at Summer Slam. My prediction for this match Matt Riddle, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn win.
Backlash Conclusion
Backlash has some must-see matches. Along with some matches that left the fans saying was this match needed. The crowd in Puerto Rico will be energetic and loud making this a must-watch card just for their reaction. This card is also a very big deal due to the draft. This will be the last show before the draft results take effect. For a fan just wanting to enjoy pro wrestling this card has it all. What wild things will take place this Saturday? No one knows for sure. But we all will be watching.
