Saturday night July 1st Battleground will put on nine matches for the fans inside the 2300 arena. This event will be titled Battleground: Legends Never Die.  This will be the 7th Battleground event to run out of the arena. Every event has been a must-see and has given the fans some wild surprises along the way. This card has it all including two truly legendary teams doing battle when Rock n Roll Express takes on The Powers of Pain.  Two matches seem to be getting most of the hype this Saturday night.

Bully Ray vs. Matt Cardona

The first is Bully Ray vs. Matt Cardona. These two men, over the past year, have had a bitter rivalry. The likes of which spilled over at the last battleground event titled a champion shall rise. That event saw a tournament take place to crown the first-ever BCW champion. Unfortunately, during Bully’s opening match in the tournament vs. Lance Archer. Cardona got involved causing a double DQ with neither Bully nor Archer Advancing in the tournament. Later in the night, during Cardona’s second-round match vs Brian Kendricks, Bully got involved in helping Kendricks advance to the finals. After the match, Bully laid out a challenge to Cardona July 1st, Bully Ray vs. Matt Cardona loser will never be allowed in the 2300 Arena again. This, for sure, will be an interesting matchup. You will want to be there live to see the results.

Battleground is a family event, the last event Battleground: A Champion Shall Rise showed this. After the Archer vs Bully match in March, my son was stationed next to the entrance ramp with a poster trying to get all to sign.  Archer playing the heel role walked by and smacked the poster out of my son’s hand. My five-year-old got visibly upset and started crying. Bully walking to the back saw my son crying and decided to pick my son up and put him on his shoulder. While the fans chanted ECW. This was by far one of the coolest moments I witnessed at any wrestling event.

BCW Championship Match

At the last Battleground event- A Champion shall rise. Brian Kendricks was able to outlast all other competitors, in the tournament to be crowned the first-ever BCW world champion.  This was a joyous conclusion to the tournament. Fans in attendance were sent home happy. Because like Bully said at the event, Kendricks for years he was undervalued and underappreciated. Unfortunately, that joyous feeling ended a lot sooner than anyone could have expected.

This Saturday Kendricks will try to keep his title run alive when the Canadian Frankenstein PCO returns to the Battleground. PCO will try and take the belt Brian Kendricks worked so hard to gain. PCO is a 6’2 monster who will stop at nothing and put his body through anything to see his hand raised at the end of the night. This match is very interesting for many reasons the size difference being one of the biggest. How this match will play out is anyone’s guess. The only sure thing is that question will be answered live at the 2300 arena this Saturday night.
