The Flyers have released their Playoff Hype video and it is everything we could have asked for. It does not matter if the games are played in Philadelphia, Montreal, or ‘in a bubble’, this team is ready.
Someone asked me the other day, “Is this Flyers team better than the one who made a run at Lord Stanley’s Cup in 2010?” Without even a second of hesitation, my answer was “absolutely”. This honestly may be the best Flyers team I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching. This team finally has youth with the needed speed for today’s NHL and the perfect blend of experience in their veterans. The Offense is explosive. The Defense is stingy. And, we finally have what we all have been tearing our hair out for… GOALTENDING!
In what feels like has taken forever to get here. Tonight the Flyers start their quest for the Cup. This time it feels different. It feels like it is our time. Our destiny. Couldn’t I be setting myself up for disappointment? Sure. But, if I wasn’t I wouldn’t be a true Philly Sports fan.
There is no more “There’s always next year”.
The time is HERE. NOW. OURS.
