Beal to Philly, Will Harden accept less money to get it done?

LA Basketball Trip

Beal to Philly, Will Harden accept less money to get it done? Could the conspiracy theorists actually be on to something here? Shortly after Morey pulled off the blockbuster trade for James Harden. Rumors started that the reason Harden hasn’t opted into his $47 million dollars 2022/23 contract yet is that he would be willing to take less money for the Sixers to bring in a third superstar.

On Tuesday, Andrew Bogut said on his program ‘Rogue Bogues’ that he heard a big rumor going around from people close to the situation in the NBA.

“Big three to Philly. Brad Beal is trying to get to Philadelphia in the offseason to team up with Harden and Embiid.”

Now of course for something like this to happen a Tobias Harris trade would have to get done. Could a sign and trade for Harris be something that the Wizards are interested in? Possibly. However, I don’t see it getting done straight up. Should the Sixers consider including Maxey in the deal to get it done? I’m taking a hard pass on that.

When it comes to the possibility of Harden accepting less money to make a Beal deal happen. It is possible. We have seen aging Veterans who have made a boatload of money already taking team-friendly deals to get the one thing they don’t have, a Championship.

Harden looks like Philly has given him new life. It’s a long shot that he will accept a substantial amount lower than what his opted-in contract would provide and a lot of things would have to fall into place to even make Bradley Beal to Philadelphia a possibility. Now, we have seen Morey’s magic better our roster already. I look forward to seeing what else he has up his sleeve to get Beal to the City of Brotherly Love.
