Big Win for the Flyers on Broad Street

Flyers (31-18-7) win big against the Florida Panthers (29-20-6) in South Philly. Carter Hart is back on the ice tonight. Former Flyer, Sergei Bobrovsky played in his 500th NHL Game.

The Panthers struck first at the 3:07 marker. Mackenzie Weegar breaks through traffic for an early Cats lead.

The lead did not last long. Provorov sends a bullet past Bobrovsky for the tie. The game knotted at 1. That is 10 on the season for Provy.

In the second, JVR rockets one passed BOB for the 2-1 lead. Voracek with the assist. Travis Sanheim joins the party and lights the lamp with less than a minute left in the period. Bringing the orange and black’s lead up 3-1 over Florida.

The third period was not much different. Giroux scores with a backhander and ices the victory for the second game in a row. The Flyers skate off the ice with the 4-1 victory and move up a rung in the standings.

Carter Hart goes 30 of 31 on saves. James van Riemsdyk with 1 goal and 1 assist. Travis Sanheim, Ivan Provorov, and Claude Giroux all have 1 goal.

The Flyguys head to Brooklyn to take on the third-place Islanders tomorrow night. These are must-win games if the Flyers want to jockey themselves into position for a playoff run.
