I recently read an article that got my mind working overtime. Ramblinfan.com (Fansided) put out an article weighing in on some possible landing spots for Brandin Cooks if the Rams choose to move on from the speedy receiver. The reason this article piqued my interest is that the Eagles were listed as one of five possible suiters.
I started to think of the chances and the pros of this happening. Here is how they broke down the trade. The Rams get Alshon Jeffery and a Fifth-round pick in exchange for Brandin Cooks and a Seventh-round pick.

I’m not going to go into all the reasons why the Rams would be willing to trade Cooks. Although, Let’s just say the Rams need draft picks.
Howie Roseman needs to figure out a way to move on from Alshon Jeffery and his bloated contract. Howie also vows to fix this team’s lack of youth and speed. Enter Brandin Cooks. The 6-year veteran is still on 26 years old and has blazing fast speed. Not to mention, the Eagles would only be on the hook for $8 million of Cooks’ salary for the 2020 season.
The Eagles had an interest in a Cooks’ trade a few years back. The Saints ended up trading the Oregon State product to the Patriots for the #32 and #103 pick of the 2017 draft. Who then traded Cooks to the Rams just a season later.
Ultimately, a Cooks / Jeffery trade would be just the start to fix the Eagles depleted wide receivers corp. Howie will still need to address the position in the 2020 NFL Draft. However, a trade for Cooks would spark the offseason inferno this team needs.
