Braves With Dominating Win

Braves with a dominating 8-1 win over the Phillies. The Philadelphia Phillies went into Atlanta for the home opener. An enthusiastic crowd of 14,342 were in a solemn mood in the pre-game ceremony. The Braves paid tribute to past greats Phil Niekro and Henry Aaron.

The number 44 was outlined on the outfield turf and the Braves donned throw-back uniforms. Zack Wheeler took the mound and was a bit inefficient, allowing 3 earned runs, 4 walks, and striking out 4 in just 4.2 innings.

Atlanta starter, Charlie Morton was better on this night with 1 run, 7 k’s, 4 hits, and only one free pass. Things started well when Jean Segura beat out an infield single and Andrew McCutchen would plate him with a single to right.

Sadly for Phils fans, that would be their only highlight. Ronald Acuna Jr. would step up by going 4 for 5 with a pair of RBIs. Acuna Jr. crushed a homer to center field and basically said, “beat that.” Ehire Adriana crushed a pinch-hit Jack and Freddie Freeman also went yard. Braves with a dominating 8-1 win

Let’s hope the Phils can rebound Saturday night. For more coverage click here.
