Brooklin’s Special Teams Very Special In Victory

The Brampton Excelsiors (1-3) faced the Brooklin Lacrosse Club (4-1) in Major Series Lacrosse action Wednesday night at the Iroquois Park Sports Complex in Whitby, Ontario.

The Brooklin team (BLC) was coming off a gem of a game last Sunday in Cobourg, winning handily 14-4.  The Excelsiors were also coming off a victory, coming from behind to beat the Owen Sound North Stars 10-9 in overtime.

The goaltending match-up had Will Johnston in net for the Excelsiors facing Riley Hutchcraft in net for Brooklin.

Brooklin’s special teams were superb in this game going 4 for 4 on the power-play.  Curtis Knight, Luke Keenan, Connor Kearnan and Tanner Cook led the BLC attack, that controlled the majority of the game.

While the Excelsiors had opportunities, they just couldn’t solve Riley Hutchcraft or the Brooklin defense.   Brooklin came away with the 13-3 victory.

Brampton finally stopped the Brooklin eight goal run when JP Ward fired a bounced shot off a Holden Patterson pass at 10:55, but Graydon Hogg’s second of the night off a Curtis Knight pass answered back for Brooklin at 13:42.
