Colorado With 14-10 Win over Calgary

Colorado moves to 5-1 With Mammoth Win over the 1-4 Calgary Roughnecks.

Ryan Lee (9a) continues his quest for NLL MVP with Connor Robinson pitching in a seven point game to lead Colorado into a tie with San Diego.

Both squads sit at 5-1 to lead the Western Division of the National Lacrosse League

This One Was a Battle

Welcome to the NLL where most games are nailbiters.

Colorado jumped out to an early 2-0 edge courtesy of a man up goal that was set up by Lee with Chris Wardle (1g, 1a) doing the honors at the 2:30 mark followed by Lee with Zed Williams doing the dirty work by for Connor Robinson (6g, 1a) who doubled the lead at 3:29.

Calgary battled back when Jesse King (1g, 4a) buried a set up from Dan Taylor and Zach Herreweyers to cut it to a 2-1 affair.

Zed Williams (1g, 1a) and Herreweyers (2g,3a) went toe to toe to make it a 3-2 game.

Robinson and Eli McLaughlin (2g,1a) ended the opening Stanza with a Mammoth lead of 5-2.

Of note Lee ends the quarter with four helpers.

To The Second

The second was the best quarter for Calgary of the season.

Dan Taylor (3g,4a) would score at the thirty one second mark and duplicate his feat at 2:03 cutting it to a 5-4 game.

Haiden Dickson (1g, 3a), Jesse King and Carter McKenzie (1g) pushed the Roughnecks to a lead, that got it to a 7-5 game.

Josh Sullivan (1g) would stop the onslaught to end the half with Calgary holding a 7-6 lead.

Onto the Third

Dylan.Kinnear (1g) knotted things up at 7-7 with 1:29 elapsed.

Kyle Waters (3g) hit for a pair to give the Roughnecks a 9-7 advantage.

Herreweyers boosted it to a three goal advantage at 6:44.

Colorado would storm.the beach with goals from Robinson at 8:27 and again at 9:06.

Dillon Ward hit the fastest guy in the league, Joey Cupido (1g) followed by McLaughlin and Robinson to close the first 45:00 with an 12-10 Colorado lead.

The Climax

Mammoth goalkeeper, Dillon Ward and the Colorado defense would shut the door.

The exclamation point was put on the scene with tallies from Robinson and Kinnear to end the 14-10 game.

Dis and Dat

Shots went the way of of Calgary, 52-46.

Loose Balls went the same direction, 76-68 with Jesse King picking up 10 for the Necks and Robert Hope snagging 12 for the winners.

Dillon Ward stopped 42 Calgary tries with Christian Del Bianco saving 32.

The Mammoth have now posted four straight wins.
