Cornerback Aaron Robinson – UCF

No doubt the 2021 draft will be like no other in recent memory with the potential for another first of the first four (4) picks to be all QBs.  One thing that has not changed is our Eagles need for secondary help.  I honestly believe that the Eagles will take a skilled receiver in round 1 and then pivot to a DB in the second. UCF’s CB Aaron Robinson would be ideal.

Both CBS Sports and NFL Mock Draft Database agree with me.  Accordingly to CBS Sports. “Robinson appears to be a better fit in the slot than on the outside, but is an excellent defender in man and zone coverage. The Eagles need an outside cornerback to pair with Darius Slay, but Robinson can be moved around in defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon’s system.”.

NFL Draft Profile

Position: Cornerback
College: University of Central Florida
Class: Redshirt Senior
Height: 5’11 1/2″
Weight: 190 LBs
40 Time: 4.38
Vertical Jump: 37
Draft Projection: 2nd or 3rd Round

Robinson originally recruited and played his freshman season at Alabama before transferring to UCF.  The attributes of having good cover skills, solid tackler and what appears to be on paper a solid Defensive Coaching Staff can develop him in 2021 so that he makes an impact.  I think the pick is a bit risky, but this pick at 37 favors our Birds.
