The Philadelphia Eagles head down to Tampa Bay to take on the  Buccaneers. Both teams had momentum heading into this game. Both teams started on the right track with a record of 2-0. Eagles with a nice win over the Minnesota Vikings 34-28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers win over Chicago Bears 27-17. the x-factor for the Eagles was D’Andre Swift running rampant in Tampa.

PST WASHINGTON TRIP 2023

Continue to Gut Punch:

De’Andre Swift, the hometown kid, continues to strive in the Eagles offense. D ‘Andre Swift with 16 carries for 130 yards on the night. And you can see why. Every time that Jalen Hurts handed De’Andre Swift the football he kept producing big chunks of yards, finding the right holes to hit, that the offensive line was giving him. For a while, the Eagles were trying to get Kenneth Gainwell some touches in the second quarter but nothing much came of it. Kenneth Gainwell with 14 carries for 46 yards.

De Andre Swift with7 converted first down plays. two of them were huge! One was for 26 yards the other was 29 yards. Big play of the night. running up the gut and hurdling over Antoine Walker Jr. D’Andre Swift was good running the ball north and south and east to west. Plus making a nice catch over the middle for an 8-yard gain. Eagles were looking for the feature back to replace Miles Sanders. They have it.

Fitting the Bill:

Those former Georgia bulldogs Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter have fit the Eagles logo of being hungry dogs. Because just like last week, they came to wreak havoc in the trenches. For most of the game Eagles’ defense made it hard for the Buccaneers to run the ball, with Rachaad White couldn’t get things going, only having 14 carries for 38 yards. and not to mention the Eagle’s defense forcing a safety. Baker Mayfield getting a world of a difference, facing a smash-mouth defense. That would collapse the pocket on him and make it hard for him to extend plays with his wideout options being covered in man-to-man coverage. The Eagles defense sacked him twice. The Buccaneers offense didn’t get a touchdown drive going until the fourth.

Getting Back into the swing of things:

Eagles looked good on both sides of the ball. The defense looked solid through the course of this game only giving up 11 points. The big difference with James Bradberry back at corner. The Eagles’ offensive line did a tremendous job, creating big holes for De Andre Swift and giving Jalen Hurts plenty of time in the pocket.

Jalen Hurts looked to me shades of himself from last season. just to start the game, going up-tempo and finding AJ Brown twice over the middle. The first one is on a nice cross route. The second one is deep over the middle.

struggled a little bit in the red zone early. However, Jalen Hurts makes a gamble throw through a tight window and finds the new wideout Olamide Zaccheaus for a 34-yard touchdown. Jalen Hurts after attempts to run the ball with no success decides to punch in for a TD. Jalen Hurts looked like he got into the swing of things. He did make two picks however he was picking apart the Buccaneer’s defense. Jalen Hurts did a great job of reading what the Buccaneers were to throw at him. Didn’t matter if was blitzing packages or falling into a defensive zone. Jalen Hurts put 23 companions for 277 yards. 1 TD, 2 picks, and one rushing TD
