Diving Deep Into the Flyers 2024-25 Regular Season Schedule

On Tuesday, the Philadelphia Flyers announced their full 2024-25 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season schedule. They will open their 57th season on the road Friday, Oct. 11, at the Vancouver, taking on the Canucks. The Flyers will play their first home game of the on Saturday, Oct. 19, also against the Vancouver Canucks. This is the third time in four years the team has hosted Vancouver in their home opener. I am diving deep into the Flyers 2024-25 regular season schedule.

Philadelphia will play 13 back-to-back games this season. Last year, they played 12 back-to-backs in 2023-24. The Flyers will also play three games in four nights 11 times and four games in six nights 13 times throughout the 2024-25 season. Information on the Flyers TV and radio broadcast schedule will be announced later.

Home vs Away

Philadelphia’s home schedule features 17 weekend games (one on Friday, 13 on Saturday, and three on Sunday). In March, they play the most home games in a single month this season with 10, including a season-high seven-game homestand from March 4-15. December and January both hold the most road games in a month this season, with eight. The longest road trip for the Flyers is a five-game road trip. That is March 17-25, 2025.

Circle Your Calendars

The season is the normal must-see hockey, and there are some openers on October 11th and October 19th, both versus Vancouver.
The Frozen Frenzy game is on October 22nd vs. WSH at 6 PM. The Frozen Frenzy is when all 32 teams play on the same night with a triple header of games and a whip-around of all the games. The reigning Stanley Cup champions, Florida Panthers, take on the Orange-and-Black on November 9th, 2024. December 8th is Philadelphia’s first time hosting or playing the Utah Hockey Club, and February 4th is Philadelphia’s first time playing in Utah.

Big Al’s Favorites

One of my favorite games is the Black Friday game or the Thanksgiving Matinee on November 29th vs. the New York Rangers at 1 PM. I love watching Flyers hockey and eating leftovers. We must wait until February 8th & 25th to see the Battle for PA and take on the Penguins.

December 28th will definitely be circled on my calendar. They play the Anaheim Ducks at 1 PM, and it will be their first time playing against former Flyers prospect Cutter Gauthier. Most of all, I will be at the January 11th game when Philly will host Cutter Gauthier for the first time at the Wells Fargo Center. I would love to see if he plays that night.

In the Division

The Flyers play 26 games against the Metropolitan Division. They have two home and two road games against Columbus, New Jersey, New York Islanders, Pittsburgh, and Washington. Philly will play three games against Carolina (two home, one road) and New York Rangers (one home, two road).

Atlantic Division Matchups

Philadelphia will also play three games against each team in the Atlantic Division for a total of 24 contests: Boston (one home, two road), Buffalo (two home, one road), Detroit (two home, one road), Florida (two home, one road), Montreal (two home, one road), Ottawa (one home, two road), Tampa Bay (one home, two road) and Toronto (one home, two road).

Dolans Bar

Western Conference

The Flyers will play each team in the Western Conference twice (one home, one road) for 32 matches. They will play 7 of their 11 contests in October against a Western Conference opponent and five of the seven games to start off the season.
