Doug or Carson? That’s the question. It is believed that with the recent reports of Doug Pederson’s job indeed being in jeopardy. Jeff Lurie’s concerns stem more than just the relationship between Carson and Doug but also with play-calling amongst other things.
We have been saying for quite some time now. It will come down to keeping Doug and trading Carson or firing Doug and hiring a new head coach to work with Carson. Turns out we may not be too far off. But which is the right decision? Only time will tell.
Should Doug Stay or Go?
It’s bring reported, Doug and Jeff will have another sit-down and discuss how to move this team forward. The future of Doug Pederson could very well come down to that very meeting.
There is also a rumor out there that an NFL team is inquiring about trading for an already hired Head Coach. Could it be Doug? Doubtful. However, the Jets are looking and Joe Douglas and Doug already have had a working relationship. So you never know.
One thing is for sure what we thought a week ago in Doug’s job security being just that secure has certainly taken a twist. In whichever direction the decision goes it needs to come down quick. There are a few names that come to mind that could replace Doug but we will save that for another article.
