Eagles already linked up to these 3 Players in free agency. The Free Agency rumor mill is already swirling at hyper-speed and the Eagles are in the dead center of it all. Howie has already been linked to three free agents that make perfect sense for the Eagles.
Here are three names to be on the lookout for once free agency opens at 4 pm on March 16th. Who we kidding we will know once “legal tampering” at noon on March 14th most likely.
Packers LB De’Vondre Campbell
In the words of Giovanni “Please Howie. For the love of God, get us some Linebackers.” And we couldn’t agree more. The Eagles are reported to be interested in De’Vondre Campbell who made All-Pro First Team last season. The first of his career.
The Packers are in ‘Cap Hell’ and are in line to lose some talent. If the Packers let Campbell test the open market expect the Eagles to pounce.
Titans DE/LB Harold Landry and Texans S Justin Reid
According to Ed Kracz of Sports Illustrated (SI.Com) who covers the Eagles. He mentions Howie has an interest in both Edge Rusher Harold Landry and safety Justin Reid.
Harold Landry is exactly the kind of player the Eagles love. Versatile. Someone who you can move all around the field. It is no secret Howie believes Championships are won in the ‘trenches’. With aging (and Injured) Brandon Graham, getting someone to play opposite Josh Sweat for years to come is and should be a top priority on the defensive side of the ball. Landy wants to be paid the highest at his position. We know Howie is willing to pay up for those top players at top positions.
Justin Reid is a young and talented Safety who SHOULD be interested in finding a new home. The Eagles are so thin at Safety that they need to prioritize it not only in free agency but the draft as well. Reid is on the record saying he is open to staying in Houston but we know that is just player talk. Who would WANT to stay with the Texans? At only 25 years old, Reid would give the stability they need in their secondary with both Anthony Harris and Rodney McLeod being free agents. However, I could see Howie resigning one of the two in Harris or McLeod.
Reid may have already tipped his cap in which direction he takes his career. Is this his send-off?
