Eagles Linebacker Announces Retirement

Well, the Eagles Defense and Special Teams took an unexpected hit today. Linebacker, Jatavis Brown has surprisingly announced his retirement at just 26 years old. Although, Brown was no lock for a roster spot. The team prioritized signing him in Free Agency.

Jatavis, a fifth-round pick from Akron spent his now four-year career with the San Diego Chargers. He appeared in 56 games including 23 starts.

The Eagles, now down a Linebacker, still have a competitive group going forward. It will be interesting to see who makes the final roster with names like Nate Gerry, TJ Edwards, and Duke Riley. Not to forget recently drafted Davion Taylor (Colorado) and Shaun Bradley (Temple).

The Eagles could also use more of a hybrid approach at well at Linebacker. Safeties, newly drafted K’Von Wallace and newly signed Will Parks could step up to play ‘center field’ as well.
