The Philadelphia Eagles (3-4-1) travel to the Meadowlands to face the New York Giants (2-7). The Eagles are coming off of a bye while the Giants just beat the Washington Football team for their second win of the season, What are the Keys to the Game?
EAGLES WIDE RECEIVERS
Do the Eagles now have a legit receiving core? Alshon is back and Jalen Reagor will be making his 3rd NFL start. The Eagles were able to use Reagor in a Tyreek Hill fashion with motion against the Cowboys. This is something the Giants haven’t seen yet and I am curious as to how they will matchup against him. Also, people forget that Alshon Jeffrey was on pace for 90 catches last season before the injury. Per John Clark of NBC Sports, he is in the best shape of his career.
So for the first time in a long time Carson Wentz will have a solid wide receiver group to throw the ball to on Sunday.
Eagles Getting Healthy
The Philadelphia Eagles are getting really close to full capacity. Miles Sanders, Alshon Jeffrey, Dallas Goedert, Lane Johnson, and Jalen Reagor should all play on Sunday. Isaac Seumalo and Jack Driscoll are practicing as well which means the Eagles may actually have some depth across the board. It also most likely means Jordan Mailata to the bench which makes NO SENSE at all to me. Either way, the injury excuses will be out the widow this week.
Carson Wentz Turnovers
The Carson Wentz turnovers have to stop especially the fumbling on your own 25 yard line turnovers. He leads the league in turnover worthy plays with 23. The Eagles can deal with the whole trying to make a play interception or sack. The fumbles continue to be a huge concern.
“I’m not good enough,” Wentz said. “I’m pumped we got the win, but I’m going to have to watch the tape and I’m a little frustrated with how I played and how we’ve left some plays out there, left some points out there, and missed some big opportunities. I can be better. I know I will be.”
Carson Wentz
The Eagles are tied for 2nd worst in the NFL in turnover differential with a -7. Carson Wentz holding onto the football could make that number a lot better.
Prediction Time
As you can see in this article this game is way more about the Eagles and much less about the Giants. The Eagles squeaked out a win on the back of a Carson Wentz 4th quarter comeback a few weeks ago. I think this week is much different because of the Eagles health. If Carson Wentz has time to throw the Eagles will roll in this game. The health of the team, the bye week, and the fact that the Giants plain STINK spells blow out to me. Also, have a gut feeling Alshon has 5 catches, 65 yards and a touchdown too.
Eagles 31 – Giants 14
