Eflin Gets Lit Up

Eflin gets lit up, 5-1. Zach Eflin got lit up in the opening inning when he allowed a pair of two-run homers to boost the Washington Nationals to a defeat of the Philadelphia Phillies.

Josh Bell and Kyle Schwerber each collected two-run shots to propel the Nats to victory. Eflin went 6 innings allowing 5 runs off 7 hits with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts.

For the Nats, Patrick Corbin matched and raised Eflin with seven innings, 5 hits, 1 run, and 9 strikeout outing. The Nats victory ends a four-game losing skein.

Philly started with an Andrew McCutcheon double which resulted in McCutcheon scoring on a double steal to put the Phils up,1-0. That turned out to be their highlight in this game. Tanner Rainey, Daniel Hudson, and Austin Voth three two scoreless innings after Corbin exited. Eflin gets lit up.
