Outgoing NLL Commissioner, Nick Sakiewicz committed to a big expansion plan.

Most cases, expansion teams take a few seasons to get their legs under them

Philadelphia and San Diego following what I call the “Sakiewicz Plan”, were competitive from their first day.

The shortened then cancelled seasons dampered the success or shortcomings of teams.

After the smoke cleared, San Diego and Philadelphia seemed to be among the prime of the National Lacrosse League.

There is a reason the adage is, “It’s a long season”

The Wings suddenly lost their scoring touch with the Seals having weaknesses exposed.

How they finish remains to play out.

New York and Rochester were next in the frame.

New York, while eliminated from post season play, are built around generational talent, Jeff Teat.

They will be in the mix for years to come.

Rochester, despite a less than stellar campaign, hold draft picks and, like New York, will be a force.

Off to Panther City…a team that is following the New York blueprint.

Opening eyes with a tremendous offense and will only get stronger with Jonathan Donville going Patrick Dodds et all in the coming seasons.

Yet another team is joining the mix in Las Vegas…Will GM/Coach Shawn Williams go for a “Win Now” or build a potential dynasty?

Stay tuned…
