Explorers can’t find the win in a 73-60 loss. The LaSalle Explorers (7-9) couldn’t find the magic to increase their short two-game winning streak and fell short against the visiting, Rhode Island Rams on Wednesday afternoon.
A game of runs, mostly by the Rams, signaled the difference in this one. LaSalle found themselves in front, 9-5 with just three minutes played but the euphoria would not last. The Rams slammed to a lead-based off a 7-0 lead to end the first half with a 37-31 edge.
None of the action occurred before Drexel was the recipient of a Jared Kimbrough bucket followed by a try from Jhamir Brickus to get it to a 31-30 deficit. Rhode Island went on a seven-point run to close the half with a 37-31 lead.
The Rams were not finished and later added an 8 point barrage. The Rams were led by a 25 point outburst from Jeremy Sheppard with Daron Russell dropping 14. The Explorers were gifted with a career-high 15 from Christian Ray.
