Explorers Went Hunting and Bagged Some Hawks

Monday basketball had the Explorers hunting some Hawks for a 90-83, victory. The St. Joseph’s Hawks (1-10) made the short trip up Broad Street in an effort to turn their season around. A high scoring affair witnessed the LaSalle Explorers improve their record to 6 and 8 with a demonstrative 90-83 victory at Tom Gola Arena in a MLK Jr. Day matinee.

The Explorers implemented a very balanced scoring attack led by a 25 point outburst from Jack Forrest. Taylor Funk, 17 points and a double-double from Jordan Hall (11 points, 11 helpers) overmatched the Hawks defense.

St. Joe’s battled through the entire way and were led by Jared Kimbrough and his 24 points. Anwar Gill helped out with 15 points with Jhamir Brickus hitting double digits with a 10 point game. The Hawks have fallen to an 0-7 road record and also fall to 1-6 against the Explorers. To compound things, St. Joe’s has now lost 14 consecutive road games dating back to last season.
