Well, I guess the second time truly is the charm at least for the Orange and the Black. Flyers improve to 3-1-0 with a shutout of the Buffalo Sabres, 3-0, who fall to 1-3-0. Brian Elliott pitched a 40 save shutout to push the Orange and Black to their third victory.
Travis Konecny continued his hot hand after converting a beautiful tic tac toe set up from Oskar Lindblom and Nolan Patrick to pace the Orange and Black to a 1-0 edge.

While Netminder, Brian Elliott was wowing the staunch cardboard fans en route to a 40 save game, the homeboys kept working and we’re benefit of a Jake Voracek (hope he likes me) marker. The hardworking, Kevin Hayes literally iced things with an empty-net tally with just under two minutes remaining.
The saving grace for team Philadelphia has been its goaltending. The defense, thus far, has been a sieve…not to continue to beat a drum but, 35-40 shots allowed is a recipe for disaster.
In a potential bad omen.. Phil Myers and Morgan Frost left with injuries. Check back to our social media and site for updates.
A shortened season may have just gotten longer. Hopefully they can improve the defense and not need “second time charm.”
