Flyers Notch 100th Franchise Win over Toronto

The Toronto Maple Leafs ventures into the Wells Fargo to take on the white-hot Philadelphia Flyers.

A huge final stanza propelled Philadelphia to a resounding 6-1 victory.

Toronto dominated the opening twenty minutes and outshot the Fly Guys. 15-7. Flyers netminder, Carter Hart, and his counterpart, Fredrick Anderson stole the show with neither allowing a goal.

Scott Laughton nailed his third of the season when he converted a sweet Kevin Hayes pass to put Philly in front, 1-0.

The Flyers kept pressing the attack and hit the goal post twice to take it to the final stanza with Philly hanging on, 1-0.

Jason Spezza set up Travis Dermott to get the game tied at 1-1.

Phillips Myers broke down a Toronto rush and Claude Giroux converted a Travis Konecny feed to put Philly up. 2-1 with ten minutes to play.

Six minutes later, Myers st up Konecny for a 3-1 Philly edge.

Ivan Provorov assisted on Joel Farabee’s empty-net goal before Shayne Gostisbehere and James Van Riemsdyk found the net just twelve seconds apart to give Philadelphia its fifth consecutive victory.

Blue Lines: Philadelphia picked up the 100th franchise victory over Toronto.
