Flyers Put Out The Flames

What looks to be a sure win for the Calgary Flames, if you’re going off of momentum factor, with the Flames beating the New York Rangers in overtime on Saturday and the Flyers losing 4 straight and giving up 18 goals. Flames sitting right outside of a playoff spot. You’ve would have thought, the Flames would be licking their chops for the Flyers today, however, that wasn’t the case at all. A change at the goalie position with Sam Errson, who hasn’t started for the Flyers since January 17th.

The Game

1st period:

Just starts like most bad nights for the Flyers with sloppy defense. However, Sam Errson stood tall between the pipes. Seeing all sorts of shots, creative plays, and odd-man rushes meant nothing to the young glove, Late in the first. Travis Konceny causes a turnover out of the defensive zone and beats defensemen Noah Hanifin one-on-one and finds the back of the net

2nd period:

mid through the second, the Flyers light the lamp again with an odd-man rush of the Flyer’s own Cam York with a nice pass to Nicolas Deslauriers then Nicolas Deslauriers goes top shelf for the goal. The flames responded right back when there was traffic in front of Sam Errson then Mikael Blackund shot a top-corner goal to put the Flames on the scoreboard. And again the Flyers pour on the offensive attack. when Travis Konceny makes a pass to Tony DeAngelo who was left open and makes a goal on Jacob Markstrom. However, would what was looking good for the Flyers left the team with a scare. Travis Konceny gets hit and doesn’t come back into the game.

3rd period

With Travis Konceny sidelined. Flames can smell blood in the water. It was long for the Flames to get on the scoreboard when Noah Hanifin makes a nice pass to Tyler Toffoli who hits a top-shelf corner goal. Shortly after Flames get right back to tie up the score when Andrew Mangiapne was found all alone in front of the net and scored another goal for the Flames. Scott Laughton forces the natural zone turnover passes the puck to James Van Riemsdyk passes it to Wade Allison beats Jacob Markstrom’s 4-3 Flyers win!
