Falcons vs Eagles Week 2 Gameday Preview

Sunday Night Football!!! The Philadelphia Eagles visit the Atlanta Falcons as 1.5 road favorites. The over under is hovering around 51 which shows signs of a high scoring affair but I think different. Kickoff scheduled for 8:20PM and the more I think about this game the more I think the Eagles roll!

Eagles Offense vs Falcons Defense
Once the offense got out of whatever funk they were in last week we saw the high octane attack we expected through the air. We also saw a commitment to the run as well in the second half. The Falcons have a smaller athletic front 7 so I expect to rely on the bigger Jordan Howard with Miles Sanders and less Sproles. Running the ball will control the clock keeping the Falcons offense off the field while opening up the pass with Carson Wentz. The Falcons defense can get pressure on the quarterback so turnovers is only way I see the birds offense being stopped this week.

Falcons Offense vs Eagles Defense
The Falcons offense hasn’t been the same since Kyle Shanahan left but they still have the players to completely take over a game. The Eagles cornerbacks will determine if this game is high scoring shootout or not. They do not have to be perfect but they need to be way better then last week as this is Matt Ryan and Julio Jones not….Wait who plays for the Redskins again? If the defensive backfield can be adequate then the defensive line will get pressure. The Falcons offensive line is banged up and not playing well so pressure is a must on the defensive side of the ball.

Special Teams
Falcons may be without former Eagles and return man Kenyon Barner who did well last week. They may also be without speedy coverage guy Russell Gage which could leave an opening for a big return from the Eagles. The Falcons also had a punt blocked so maybe opportunity knocks there.

Final Score Prediction
Eagles 27 Falcons 20
