Hawks Fall to George Mason. The 1-11 St. Joseph’s Hawks went South to challenge George Mason (7-6) in Fairfax, Virginia. The Hawks waged a valiant comeback but fell short in Double Overtime, 87-85.
Trailing by 12 with 9:00 to play, St. Joe’s started to find their mojo and got things knotted up. George Mason went on their own run with seven points
The Hawks were white hot from three point range and banged 13 in regulation. That fast they went ice cold and missed all five attempts in the extra time.
Taylor Funk led the visitors with 19 points with Jadrian Tracey adding 18. Jordan Hall was the playmaker and contributed 11 assists in the defeat.
Javon Greene led George Mason on a 25 point contest. Jordan Miller chipped in 17 and Josh Oduro picked up a double-double off a 13 rebound 14 point game.+
