Herrewyers With A Hatty As Cobourg Sweeps The Series With Rock

The Cobourg Kodiaks (3-4) visited the Oakville Rock (4-2) at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre (TRAC) Monday night in Major Series Lacrosse action.

The Kodiaks beat the Rock 12-8 the previous night in Cobourg.  Oakville was looking for redemption.  The two players that made headlines in the last game were Nathan Grenon and Tyler Hendryks.  The two were involved in a trade Friday between these two clubs.  Hendryks scored twice for the Rock, but Grenon was a game changer with three goals and three assists in the Kodiaks win.

The goaltending match-up had Steven Orleman in net for Cobourg facing Nick Rose in net for the Rock.

Another entertaining game from these two evenly matched teams had Oakville lead after one period 2-1.  Both goalies were money in the period making a combined 37 saves.

The Kodiaks were able to hold Oakville off the scoresheet in the second while scoring four themselves.   Zach Herrewyers led Cobourg with a pair of goals, as well as David Anderson and Nathan Grenon to grab a 5-2 lead.

After Cobourg got up 7-3 early in the third, Oakville tried to mount a comeback.  Hendryks and Lanchbury scored to narrow the lead to two, but that was as close as it would get.  Cobourg Sweeps the season Series with a 7-5 victory.  Steven Orleman made 48 saves in the victory.
