The Phillies nine game homestand continues Friday night when the Phillies welcome in the lowly St Louis Cardinals. Since the Phillies defeated the Cardinals last year in the Wild Card round They just haven’t been the same team.

Philadelphia’s bottom three had a .747 OPS, the eighth-best mark in franchise history among their Nos. 7-9 hitters the best mark since 2007 . Schwarber crushed a solo homer to right field in the seventh, giving the Phillies an MLB-best 45 homers this month showing the Phillies a 7-2 win. Game 2 Saturday night. Wheeler gave the Phils a Cy Young-caliber performance. Wheeler allowed one run on three hits over seven-plus innings, cruising to a 12-1 over the Cardinals in front of a sold-out crowd at Citizens Bank Park. Wheeler struck out 10 without issuing a walk. Marsh, Castellanos, and Stott all homered as the Phillies crushed the Cards. But the star of the night was Wheeler who looked like he was back
