Jadeveon Clowney: Why This Makes Sense

The Eagles Need More!

First, let me start by saying I know Jadeveon Clowney is a DIRTY S.O.B. for that cheap shot on Carson Wentz in the Divisional Round of the ’19 – ’20 NFL Playoffs. He should have been ejected, fined, suspended… you name it. It’s true.

With that said, should the Eagles (as rumored) be interested in Jadeveon Clowney? 100% Yes!

If there is one thing for sure every team in the NFC East has improved their rosters. Whether be via Free Agency or the 2020 NFL Draft. Some even say Dallas had the strongest draft in the entire league. To be honest, I can’t disagree.

Although, dedicating all but one offensive resigning in Nate Sudfeld in free agency. Howie traded and made several signings to bolster the secondary and defensive line.

Edge Rusher is still a position that could use some attention. Howie could go down numerous roads to get the piece that is missing along the ends. Could it be a Yannick Ngakoue trade? Sure, but unlikely. Compensation will be too high with draft picks, players, and big-money extension. Signing Former Viking Everson Giffin? Maybe, but he turns 33 in December. This is where we go back to Clowney.

JD is only 27 years old. Health has not been on his side as we know. However, a disruptive force to rotate with Graham/Barnett, and Sweat/Avery? It without a doubt would give the Eagles the scariest defensive line in all of football. No question!

Who Wants Another Super Bowl?

Let’s face it. As excited as it is to watch an offensive driven league. We know it is the hard-nosed take no prisoners type of defenses that wins championships.

I am 36 years old. I am old enough to have felt the heartbreak of losing throughout the years. I am lucky enough to have seen (and attend) some of the biggest wins in fandom history. The winning obviously outweighs the losing and that is a feeling I never wanna get tired of. Do you?

If Howie signing Jadeveon Clowney gets us that much closer to another a championship. Then full steam ahead. I need that feeling back in my life. The feeling of being on top of the world. I’m sure you all do as well. So before you becomes an armchair GM saying Clowney is washed up or too injury prone or even dirty rotten headhunter. There are many other players who have been given second chance and become very valuable to this franchise. Ask yourself, How bad do you want “that feeling” back of being Super Bowl champions?

The bottom line is Jadeveon Clowney makes the Eagles a better team. if the Eagles can get Clowney for the right price and year(s). It’s a no brainer. Winning should always be the main goal, #1 priority.
