Could this be the year the Eagles FINALLY prioritize the Linebacker position? (Fingers Crossed) It’s very possible. With upwards of 10 picks in this coming NFL Draft, the Eagles have the chance to come with a “Best Player Available” strategy and stick to it.
Clemson LB Isaiah Simmons would be a dream pick at #21. But is it realistic? Highly (Highly!) doubtful. However, you don’t have to look much further down the list for the next best player. I would even go as far to say that the top 2 Linebackers in this Draft are more like a 1(a) & 1(b). The talent level of these men are almost identical.
Oklahoma’s LB Kenneth Murray is who I am talking about, of course. Murray has officially declared to the 2020 NFL Draft via a video posted to his personal twitter account.
Murray was a three-year starter for the Sooners. He earned a Freshman Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year nod as well as being a Freshman All-American in 2017. In 2018, he secured a second-team All-Big 12 honors. Lastly, was named first-team all-conference and All-American in 2019. Murray has led the Sooners in tackles the past two seasons and a team-leading 17 tackles for loss this past season.
