Kyle Pitts at Eagles #6? Can’t believe I’m actually going to say this, cause boy was fully against it at first. But, I’m really starting to come around on Kyle Pitts as the Eagles first-round draft pick.
Let’s think about this. The Eagles need a playmaker, badly. Pitts is an offensive powerhouse. He plays must bigger than your typical Tight End. He can line up on the inside or outside. Above-average blocker. This guy is a defensive coordinator’s nightmare.
Pitts has great size as well, 6’6″ 246lb. Unlike the two more popular choices, DeVonta Smith and Ja’Marr Chase. There are little to no issues with Pitts. DeVonta, there are concerns with his size (6’1″ 174lb), and Ja’Marr hasn’t played since the 2019 college season. Pitts has played 21 games over the past two seasons.
Imagine being able to draft Darren Waller. Not the Darren Waller draft by the Ravens in 2015. But, the Darren Waller of right now. It’s a no-brainer, right?
To top it all off, Kyle Pitts is from PHILADELPHIA! I can’t say with certainty he grew up an Eagles fan. But how cool would it be to be able to play in your “backyard”? And, before everyone jumps down my throat. The possibility of the Eagles trading back gaining a pick or two and still drafting Pitts is something that could happen as well.
