Lady Dragons Split Weekend with Elon. After dropping the Saturday game in the Elon Phoenix’s (6-4) barn on Saturday, the Drexel Lady Dragons (7-4) returned the favor on Sunday, 55-44.

Returning to the friendly confines of Daskalakis Athletic Center in University City, the Dragons went on a 7-0 in the opening quarter to seize a 9-4 edge that they never surrendered. Hannah Nihill led Drexel with a career-best, 22 points. Mariah Leonard chipped with 7 rebounds and 13 points to aid the cause. Drexel has a dominating first half and walked away leading, 30-16.
An evenly played third quarter witnessed Drexel adding to the lead and sent us to the final quarter with the home team holding a 17 point advantage. Elon tried to mount a comeback with runs of 7 and another of 5. Drexel forced Elon into 22 turnovers.
Lady Dragons Split Weekend with Elon. Drexel goes to Boston next Saturday and Sunday (January 30 and 31) to take on Northeastern.
