Lady Owls With Statement Win

Lady Owls with a statement win, 12-8. The Temple Lady Owls( 3-1) played host to the Lady Tigers of Towson (4-2). Temple employed a master game plan which kept Towson on the perimeter all afternoon.

Despite having to recover from a Kerri Thornton (2g) tally just 1:22 in. Temple took total control and reeled off a 5 goal blitz. This was supplied by, Belle Mastropietro (1g), a pair from Meghan Hoffman (5g, 3a), Hoffman with the helper on a Jen Radzewicz (1g) marker, and Bridget Whitaker (2g,1a). This set up the slow it down and play defense operative from the Owls.

Nikki Sliwak (2g) closed it to 5-3 before Hoffman and Kara Nakrasius (1g) ended the very defensive first half with Temple calling the shots, 7-3. Blaire Pearre (2g) ended the Temple insurgence but that’s would be short-lived with Hoffman setting up Abaigale Ryan (1g), Whitaker. Hoffman followed by Gabrielle Kirsch (1g), and another from Hoffman that pushed it to 12-4.

Towson upped the ante with goals from, Pearre, Kerry Thorn (1g), Madison Hobbs (1g), and Nicole Liucci (1g,1a) to close the 12-8 score. Shots on Goal went the Temple way, 26-24 with Temple edging Towson with Shots on Goal, 23-18.

Temple held a slight edge in Ground Balls, 22-21. Shana Hecht had 10 saves in the Temple cage while Towson employed two netminders with Carly Merlo allowing 11 goals and making 11 stops. Lindsay Posner faces one shot which she couldn’t stop. Lady Owls with a statement win, 12-8.
