The Lehigh Valley Phantoms (11-12-1-4) the AHL affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers, capped off three games in three days weekend with a trip to the Giant Center to wrestle the Hershey Bears (14-9-2-3) on a blustery Sunday in Hershey, PA.
It took 18:20 for Axel Jonson-Fjallby to redirect a Martin Fehervary shot past Alex Lyon and the opening period closed with Hershey in front, 1-0.
The lead would be doubled just twenty seconds into the middle stanza when Garrett Pilon (3) beat Alex Lyon on a low shot.
Lyon would be yanked after allowing the two goals on just ten shots. J..F. Berube took over and fared much better
The Bears Tyler Lexington was whistled for Roughing at 2:36 and it took only :13 for Andy Andreoff to snap the Hershey penalty kill streak at 29.
The Bears salted it away on Bobby Nardello’s first career AHL and the horn sounded on the 3-1 contest.
Blue Lines: Hershey killed off 5 of 6 Lehigh Valley chances on the man advantage.
Shots on Goal favored the visitors, 30-21 with Hershey goalkeeper, Vitek Vanecek stopping 29.
Hershey is undefeated in the month of December and has reeled off six consecutive victories.
