Major Indoor Lacrosse League (MILL) Retro Game Of The Week

A big thank you to LaxSchool for originally posting this game on their YouTube channel of the same name.

This game had the Boston Blazers vs. the expansion Rochester Knighthawks at the War Memorial Arena in Rochester, New York.

This winner of this semi-final won the right to face the Philadelphia Wings in the championship game.

For the Blazers, Ted Dowling, Thomas Carmean, Charlie Blanchard, and Randy Fraser were the majority of their offense.

For the Knighthawks, Paul Gait, Chris Driscoll, Duane Jacobs, Peter Parke, and Tim Soudan carried the load in a very balanced Knighthawks attack.

The goalie match-up saw Hall of Famers Marty O’Neill for the Blazers vs. Steve “Chugger” Dietrich in net for the Knighthawks.

It looked like Boston was going to run away with this game at the start, but you were only going to hold that potent Rochester lineup at bay for so long.  By halftime this became a really interesting game, setting up a very exciting second half.

This game also showed why O’Neill and Dietrich were future Hall of Fame inductees, keeping their teams in the game with some incredible saves constantly throughout the game.

The packed house in Rochester were deafening all game long, making the atmosphere electric!

Sit back, relax, and enjoy this game in it’s entirety.
