Major Indoor Lacrosse League (MILL) Retro Game Of The Week

March 15, 1997

The Philadelphia Wings visit the Buffalo Bandits in front of a sold-out crowd at the Marine Midland Arena in Buffalo, New York.

Philadelphia came into this game first place in the league, actually being more dangerous on the road, than they were at home (finished the season 4-1 on the road, and 3-2 at home), while the Bandits coming off their 1996 championship, were looking to defend the championship and repeat.

The Wings had Gary Gait, Scott Gabrielsen, Kevin Finneran, Paul Deniken, and John McAvoy to carry their offense.

Buffalo had John Tavaras, the Kilgour Brothers (Darris, Rich, and Travis), Ted Dowling, Jason Luke, and Troy Cordingley on their offense.

Two of the greatest lacrosse minds were pitted against each other…Head coaches Tony Resch for the Wings vs. Les Bartley for the Bandits.

Dallas Eliuk was the Philadelphia Wings goalie, facing Pat O’Toole in the Bandits net.

Another classic game between two perennial rivals.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy this game in it’s entirety.
