Motown Meltdown

The Philadelphia Flyers dropped their 4th straight loss in Detroit to the Red Wings. It was a soiled defensive game in the first period between both teams. The Flyers threw everything but the kitchen sink however they just couldn’t land one goal. Philadelphia outshot Detroit by 13 shots but things got ugly in the second period for the Flyers. This Red Wings team open the floodgates of the offensive. That’s where the Red Wings scored all three of their goals. The Red Wings would create huge scoring opportunists shots for themselves, catching the Flyer’s defense off guard. The Flyers need to figure out this problem fast because they have the Boston Bruins up next and that wouldn’t be a day at the beach facing off against the best team in the Eastern Conference.

Dangerous Dylan Larkin:

Dangerous Dylan Larkin (The Detroit Red Wings center) is having himself quite the NHL season recording his 20th goal of the season, in this game, let alone he has been on fire in January. Since Jan. 4th, he has been on a 13-game point straight. 7 goals and 6 assists. He’s one of the main reasons why the Detroit Red Wings are in a playoff hunt. Dylan Larkin leads the Red Wings in points (44) with 20 goals and 24 assists.

Ex-Flyer Come Back To Haunt The Flyers:

Alex Lyon (who was a former Flyer Goalie and now the Red Wings goaltender) comes back to haunt his old franchise by recording a shutout against his old team, stopping 30 shots on net. He was amazing between the pipes for Detroit. He made some incredible saves in this game. Alex Lyon has taken a major step forward in his NHL career now he is one of the top ten goalies in the league. He goes from the Phantoms ( the Flyers AHL team) with some starts with the Flyers to being a key piece for the Red Wings.
