The Buffalo Bandits visited the Portland Lumberjax to start the 2007 National Lacrosse League season.
The Lumberjax added a strong scoring punch by signing Matt Holman, Tyler Heavenor, Jed Prossner and Scott Stapleford. Mike Hominuck, Richard Morgan and Ryan Powell returned from the previous season.
Returning to the defensive roster was the 2005 Edge Active Care NLL Rookie of the Year, Brodie Merrill. Also joining the backline was Notre Dame graduate and Downingtown, Pa. native DJ Driscoll.
Buffalo came into the 2007 season after making it to the championship game the previous year. With offensive talent like John Tavaras, Kevin Dostie, Dan Teat, Cory Bomberry, Delby Powless, as well as transition specialists Mark Steenhuis, and Pat McCready, the Bandits were hoping to get back to the Champions Cup game again in 2007.
The Bandits also had a talented and bruising defense with Phil Sanderson, Billy-Dee Smith, and Chris White.
Dallas Eliuk was in goal for the Lumberjax facing the Mike Thompson in net for Buffalo.
The coaching chess match had Derek Keenan facing Darris Kilgour.
This was an entertaining game from start to finish, did I mention overtime?
Sit back, relax, and enjoy this game in it’s entirety.
