Nova Advances

Nova Advances after victory over North Texas, 84-61. The #5 Villanova Wildcats faced the challenge from the #13 North Texas Mean Green and played what may have been their best game of the season.

Balanced scoring, lights out shooting a staunch defense ended the dream for the upset minded Mean Green. Villanova had four players in double digits led by Jeremiah Robinson-Earl with 18, Jermaine Samuels and Justin Moore each drained 15 with 11 from Caleb Daniels.

Trailing at one point, the Wildcats went on a 34-6 run and nailed 15 threes out of 30 attempts. The Wave only posted 6 points over the final 11:32 of the first half. North Texas was led by a 25 point outburst from Javion Hamlet with Mardrez McBride adding 11.

A classy and emotional moment occurred with :51 remaining in the game. Grant McCasland, North Texas Coach cleared all his starters off the floor and put bench players in.

Every exiting starter was met by McCasland and given huge hugs. Nova advances to take on #1 Baylor next Saturday.

The same day the Philadelphia Flyers won the Cup, the Philadelphia Wings were introduced to Neibauer and Philadelphia.

Kevin has covered many sports, including baseball, football, basketball, and.. lacrosse. A former licensed football referee and baseball umpire, Kevin brings a unique insight to his game coverage.

A published writer in JustHockey Magazine, Kevin covered the American Hockey League as well as a monthly story on a pugilist where Kevin used the pen name, The Rink Rat. Neibauer turned his attentions to lacrosse for a few years and does his part, whether podcasting or writing to grow the game. Kevin branched out to his roots and currently provides insight for all Philadelphia teams for Edge of Philly as well as his full-time duties with LaxPhilly.
