The Philadelphia 76ers have gone 2-0 since the all-star break. Game 1 was without Joel Embiid or Ben Simmons due to Covid protocols for contact tracing. Game 2 had no Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid for just 20 minutes after injuring his left knee. The Sixers win but the big news is the Joel Embiid injury.
This doesn’t look good at all. I am not a doctor but his knee locked up and I could only think of Carson Wentz. Yeah, Carson walked off the field just like Embiid walked off the court.
The Sixers expect an MRI tomorrow. Doc Rivers is trying to stay positive and says Joel’s spirits are up. Fingers Crossed!
And so we wait just like we did on December 10th 2017. The probable MVP of the leagues season could be over. This time though we don’t have a Nick Foles on the bench. Or do we?
The trade deadline gets a lot different without Joel Embiid but for now lets stay positive. MRI Tomorrow! On a bright note, the Sixers win back to back road games by 20 plus points for the first time since 2003. For More Philadelphia 76ers coverage click here.
**UPDATE – Per ESPN (Adrian Wojnarowski & Ramona Shellburne), Joel Embiids MRI showed no structural damage to his left knee. Thankfully ACL and meniscus are fine. Timeline for return is 2-3 Weeks per Shams Charania of The Athletic**
