Owen J. Roberts With Winning Debut

Its always nice to win the opening game.

Even nicer when it’s your debut.

Owen J. Roberts High School went up against the powerhouse, Wilson West Lawn High School.

Wilson, of course is in West Lawn , PA and play in District 3 of the Berks Inter-County Conference

Owen J. Roberts came in with a brand new Coaching Staff headed by Mikey Zadroga.

Zadroga and Company have put together an impressive team.

How impressive? They, despite being blanked in the first quarter, also shut out Wilson en route to a 9-3 victory.

For Wilson: Seamus Breslin 1g,1a..Gavin Lenart 1g… Carter Brensinger 1g…Spencer Thenga 1a…FOGo, Matt Switzel wentb12 of 15 from the dot…Netminder Brayden Skipper 7 saves.

Will Jaeger 3 points with a goal…Dylan Gazda 3g…Josh Devine 4g…Gabe DellaPenna 2a…Will Whitlock 3a… Jutty Daubert 1g and Player of the Game, netminder, Will Cody 16 saves.

“It was a great first win for myself, my staff and most importantly this 2022 team.

We still have a lot to improve on and the goal is to get 1% better each day, but we saw how good we can be.

We have to continue to play fast and trust one another on defense with Will Cody in goal, who stood on his head with 16 saves!

While it was a great first game, we still have 17 more to go and all of them will be battles.

Monday we have a tough Pennridge team and know we must bring it again from the first whistle because it will be a battle!”
